Note: We do not collect your email, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any sensitive device data. Guest users can use the app without providing any personal identifiers.

Provide personalized AI companion conversations
Improve and optimize the app experience
Maintain conversation history for continuity
Analyze app performance and usage patterns (anonymized)

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: Your preferences (name, settings) are stored locally on your device
Cloud Storage: Chat messages are stored securely on our servers using PostgreSQL with encrypted connections
Encryption: All data transmission between your device and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
Retention: Chat history is retained until you explicitly delete it or request account deletion

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide and improve Yaply:

OpenRouter: AI language model API for generating persona responses. Messages are processed in real-time and not stored by OpenRouter beyond the request lifecycle.
Render: Cloud hosting and database services for our backend infrastructure
Expo / React Native: Mobile app development framework
Google Play Services: App distribution and optional sign-in

These services have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data may be shared only in the following circumstances:

With service providers who help us operate the app (as listed above)
